I am reinstalling Adobe Premiere Pro CS3 on a new computer but get the message "The currently installed soundcard driver does not support DirectSound Input. Recording audio is not possible". I have noted comments on similar sound problems elsewhere but have not seen anything that seems to solve this problem.

Jun 10, 2008 · Anyway, it comes with Cubase LE (recording software by Steinberg) and I installed the Audiobox and Cubase LE. When I loaded Cubase LE I got the message "The currently installed soundcard driver does not support Direct Sound Input. Recording audio is not possible." I am using a new computer running on windows Vista.

Sign in to disable this ad i just bought the tascam us1800 that comes with cubase le5. after installing the driver for the interface i loaded up cubase with no problems. but upon starting up cubase for the first time i got this message, "the currently installed soundcard driver does not support direct sound input.recording audio is not possible".

Jun 23, 2010 · Thanks for the input. When I first bought my current PC, PP2 worked without a glitch. Nothing has been changed other than updated audio drivers and a new reformat a few days ago, and as I mentioned in my 1st post, apparently Adobe installs a wrapper audio to make it compatible with a variety of sound cards or drivers, so I can't figure out why, when it work fine, it now does not.
