Thief II: The Metal Age 1) Install Tafferpatcher, the unofficial patch which includes New Dark. It provides widescreen and ultrawide support, and converts the game to OpenAL as the sound API so surround should work properly without an X-Fi sound card. Not sure if it uses EFX to emulate EAX though.

The GOG.com version is pre-patched with NewDark for native widescreen and multi-monitor support; for other versions install the latest stable version of TFix to get the NewDark engine upgrade. With NewDark all widescreen and multi-monitor resolutions are listed in-game.

ABOUT SUPPORT Install Steam login ... setting it to 1080p. Save file - start Thief 1 or 2 from Steam. Menus will have black borders either side if you use a widescreen setting, but in game it'll be fine. The new patch adds AF AA etc by default (line in cam.cfg to change) ...
