Mar 05, 2019 · Mantle basically improved performance only on GCN 1.0 and 1.1 GPUs. (HD 7000 and R9 290/390 GPUs). Once DX12 got announced, AMD no longer focused on improving performance on newer architectures. GCN 3/4/5 (380-Fury/RX 480-580/Vega) actually perform worse in Mantle than in DX11 in Thief. Also, Mantle support was removed from AMD drivers in May 2019.
