This still wouldn't convert. 3) I changed the name of my configuration and any part in the file that looked like the configuration string "user_input -Win32 (WCE ARM)" to "user_input - Win32 (WCE ARMV4) Debug" and this worked as well.

Compare if the Configuration Name on your project matches the corresponding platform entry name on the WCE.VCPlatform.config file. If it didn’t match, change the one on WCE.VCPlatform.config.
