I was just recently diagnosed with a 0.9cm trigeminal schwannoma that presented as numbness in my lower face, teeth, and tongue. My surgeon has opted for a watch-and-wait approach because of the small size but also because in his experience (and confirmed by the literature) the likelihood that the numbess will resolve even if the tumor is removed is somewhere around 20-40%.
