The PS3 doesn’t support MKV files. Chances are, your other media servers are “transcoding” media servers and are converting those files to a format supported by the PS3 “on the fly”. Twonky Server on the Cloud is not a transcoding media server, so it won’t do that.

Nov 19, 2015 · The PS3 does not support the MKV container format and doubt it ever will. There are several other limitations on what will and won't play - epsecially audio wise inc DTS in some container formats. Twonky can stream anything but it is the PS3 which is the issue (not QNAP or Twonky).

This is a workaround that definately works with Twonky and should work on any device that supports transport stream (.TS) files. I have tried all of the other solutions including renaming to .wmv but it simply did not work when streaming to my Samsung TV.
