May 21, 2011 · I recently had to reinstall a Windows 7 installation on a work computer. I used a commercial copy of the Windows 7 DVD. After installing the OS off the DVD though I had to download and install an .exe file gotten from the computer's manufacturer (Lenovo) called "Intel chipset support for Windows 7" Do users ever have to download chipset support for Ubuntu?

The processor is an Intel i7-3610QM and it supports Intel VT-x. However, I've read that my motherboard also has to support it, namely, the chipsets of the motherboard must support it.
