Along with only supporting USB serial port adapters, hotplug is restricted to devices that provide a specific set of udev attributes; name, vendor identifier and/or serial number. Can confirm it works. Seems like it has to do with the VPS host using an older linux kernel which does not support hotplug. So it will only be resolved when OVH updates their hosts. – fmcato Dec 17 '14 at 22:36
