Mar 10, 2011 · Older bioses do not have the ability to boot from a USB connected drive. If HP lists a Bios update in the software and driver downloads for your specific model on the HP web site, you could try flashing the bios with that, but it's doubtful it will add that ability if your bios doesn't already have the ability- that's something that would have probably been built into the original bios version .

once you enter in the bios by pressing the F10 key, pls navigate to 3rd tab of system configuration->boot options->disable the secure boot and enable the legacy boot. save setings and exit press F9. Now you should be able to boot from USB disk

Apr 29, 2014 · Under the BIOS boot menu, USB-HDD as a boot option is listed as "not active" meaning it won't show as an option if I hit F12 on bootup. In the same menu, it says to press "x" in include or exclude the selected item. Pressing "x" when USB-HDD is selected does nothing. And yes, USB BIOS support is set to "enabled".
