Aug 06, 2010 · Both instances of USB Printing Support have yellow !'s. Now my printer doesn't work. After spending time on the phone with Canon (printer manufacturer) tech support, they say their software and drivers are installed and that something's wrong with plug 'n' play or usb hardware on the machine. I'm ready to be done with this problem!!!

I'm trying to use an old parallel-port based printer with a USB-to-parallel port adapter on Windows 7. When I plug it into the USB port on the computer it's listed as an unrecognized device. I know that these cables typically use the "USB Printing Support" driver with makes USB ports show up as printer ports in the printer dialog.

If you have previously installed any other USB printer drivers these may have hijacked USB Printing Support or set up an incompatible USB printing port. Jun 18, 2013 · I've reloaded Windows XP from scratch, and yet the USB Printing Support does not load in device manager automatically, unless I restart the computer after the printers are on. By the way, if I remove the USB hub where the printers are connected to, and connect one printer directly, it works fine.
