Our Ecotec range of boilers have a white data label which can be found underneath the boiler on the left. Please check the image below. There is lots of complicated looking information here but what you will see is a GC number and a Model number outlined and arrowed in yellow.

I've just had the diverter valve in my four year old Vaillant Eco pro 28 replaced- £235 ! It was a plastic valve ; they used to be brass, but I supposed they've changed them to plastic ones for the sake of cheapness, mores the pity, as Vaillant had a good name.
