I recently reached out to Verizon due to issues with the Actiontec MI424WR router. In speaking with tech support it was determined my problem was due to the wireless technology being 802.11g and they recommended changing out the router for the Actiontec MI424WR router that supports 802.11n.

The Fios Home Wi-Fi Extender supports Wireless connections to the Verizon Fios TV One Mini Set Top Box. All older “legacy” Set Top Boxes, require coax cabling. Note: Fios TV One Minis can only connect wirelessly to a Fios Home Wi-Fi Extender that has a wired connection to the router.
