Oct 22, 2008 · After further investigation, both Fusion and Parallels support 1394 via Shared Folders, but not natively hooked through the virtual devices, like USB is. Right, but that's not Firewire support, it's a workaround that addresses one possible use case. The guest has no idea it's talking to a Firewire device.

Make sure that Hard Drive is selected on the right and click Add.Remember that you cannot add any drive to a virtual IDE controller while the virtual machine is turned on, but you can add a drive to a virtual SCSI controller if the VM is off or on.
