Aug 08, 2017 · Hi, guys. I'm currently running a Windows 7 Enterprise Evaluation virtual machine on VirtualBox on an OS X El Capitan host. I would like to be able to install guest additions with Direct3D support, but unfortunately, the installer won't let me unless I boot in "safe mode".

Apr 17, 2017 · In System tab, i found that DirectX version is DirectX 11. In Display tab, all three DirectX features "DirectDraw, Direct3D and AGP Texture acceleration" are all not available. And i couldn't find the "Enable" button to activate. It's not like Windows XP that you can find "Enable" and "Disable" buttons.

a Windows guest hosted on a Windows VBOX should be capable of supporting the same level of the DirectX API, by installing and using the VirtualBox Display driver (from the addon virtual CD) in the guest OS: this driver should just forward the DirectX 9 API to the VBOX host that will reposition it on the virtual screen, but that should still support all DirectX9 API.

Just grabbed VirtualBox yesterday, and discovered this problem today. Without Direct3D support, VirtualBox is worthless to me. With it, I'd be willing to pay quite a bit for it. It's a shame, because you guys have done such a fantastic job with this software. Very user friendly, and *much* faster than qemu.

Jul 08, 2017 · One from Toshiba (for windows 7, but works on 10) and one from windows update (newer but no different results). Both show direct 3d support on host. I have this VM to play older safedisk based games on the laptop, but these games require Direct3d 8 and or 9.

Mar 29, 2012 · Well, the installer works perfectly fine on any Windows OS, however, since it's a 32-bit game, it won't run on my 64-bit Windows 7 computer, which I'm currently typing this on. I tried using DOSBox, until I realized it only works with 16-bit installers (either that or it just won't work with my game).
