May 28, 2009 · The run time is telling you that it can not see it. Not only does the BIOS need to support it and the processor but the main board chip set has to as well. I have worked on this issue numerous times and they have all but a very few been because the hardware did not fully support the process.

When VMware started to support the 64-bit guest mode, VT-x / AMD-V was not yet as common as it is now. I'm trying to run 64 bit Ubuntu 8.04.1 as guest on my MacBook running Leopard (10.5.4) host. VMWare Fusion as well as Parallels manages to run this, but VirtualBox 2.0 does not.
