Aug 26, 2015 · The virtual machine or guest OS does not have direct access to the hardware of your host computer unless VirtualBox provides an interface or passthrough. I would say parallel printer ports are pretty much obsolete and have been replaced with ethernet or USB. Anyway, VirtualBox does support LPT, but it isn't in the menu.

VirtualBox doesn't support LPT ports. DOS has limited ability to print to USB printers, and the program I am using definitely doesn't support it. Thus I need to find an automatic, or at least semi-automatic, user friendly way to print from DOS.

Jan 11, 2012 · I have a user who is running a win 7 64 bit laptop and has XP mode running. they need to access a dongle from the LPT 1 port on the host. i see that for what ever reason, xp mode does not support LPT1. how retarded. there has to be a work around for this.

Sep 20, 2007 · Usually the reason for this is because Virtual PC only supports use of the physical LPT port when the physical LPT port is configured to use the 378h-37Fh port range. If you can’t see you LPT port listed on the LPT port settings page, most computers allow you to configure the port range in the bios, and you can correct this issue.
