Jul 25, 2016 · We're running ESXi vCenter 5.5 with 3 5.5 hosts. I'm trying to convert an old physical Windows 2000 server and add it to one of our ESXi hosts. It seems like the latest version of the Agent converter I can run on the W2K server is 4.01. Anything newer than that won't install.

Converter Standalone agent might not run after installation and reboot on Windows 2000 and Windows NT4 due to Windows Service Control Manager timeout. This is no longer an issue for the current Converter Standalone release. Importing a Windows 2000 virtual machine fails when an OEM-type partition is selected.

Aug 05, 2013 · Hi Andreas, the latest version of Converter that officially supports Windows 2000 conversions is 4.0.1. It is still available and supported by VMware, and we used that version in a large P2V project few years ago without encountering any issues with Windows 2000 conversions (and we did quite a few of them).

You can use the VMWare Converter 4.3 to migrate a windows 2000 physical host. Also once you convert the windows 2000 client to ESXi it will run under ESXi 5.x just the initial conversion must use ESXi 4.x and VMWare converter 4.3
