Jun 10, 2019 · I used an updated driver from Intel to update a Windows 7 VM and it sees and can connect to the drives on the USB 3.1 Ports. Intel indicates that Win 10 support is exclusively in Windows 10 and the W7 driver is not installable on W10 Any help on how to get the USB 3.1 ports to work for W10 VM on Workstation 15.1?

Dec 29, 2006 · I am running a test of VMWare Server and USB hardware keys and so far it is failing. I have 4+ USB dongles that are all recognized by XP and Server 2003 as the same thing (Aladdin Knowledge Systems USB device) although they are all hardware keys for different products.

Long story short, turns out ESXi 5.1 doesn't really support USB 3.0 in the way you might think. In other words, if your system running ESXi 5.1 has USB 3.0 ports, that's nice!
