Dec 10, 2014 · The server is running very CPU intensive software. The software performs very poorly on 2 threads, but acceptably on 4 threads. The problem is that I'm extracting the VM image and running it under VMWare Workstation on sales laptops to do demonstrations. The CPU's on the laptops only have 4 threads total available.

I have been searching the internet to try and find a definitive answer to whether AMD Ryzen 9 3900x supports running ESXI inside VMWare workstation 15. Nov 14, 2018 · Your VMs might be able to access it under VMWare Workstation, but probably not. Workstation has some rudimentary 3D graphics support, but I'm pretty sure the Nvidia Optimus config in a laptop ends up hiding the Nvidia GPU from VMs. (In Optimus, the Intel graphics is always your primary graphics card, and the Nvidia GPU acts as a co-processor).
