Jan 23, 2013 · We cannot predict what Apple will do. Usually Apple gives full support to OS systems until they are superceded by two generations. As of now, that would be OSX10.7 and OSX 10.8. As Snow Leopard is 10.6 that seems to say it all. So you should at least be prepared.

My parents have a 2007 Mac mini with only 1GB of RAM so it can’t run Lion. Even if they did upgrade the RAM there’s no guarantee that Apple will continue to offer security updates for Lion any longer than they will for Snow Leopard. At this point there are more SL users than Lion users so they’ll probably both get cut off the same day.
