Sprint claims that the 4s and 5 are only unlocked for International use, but that is simply not true. @ Ethmoid , you mention the problem is using a CDMA device on a GSM network, but there is no problem there, as the Iphone 5 can handle both, as it has both radios.

Jul 29, 2015 · What Sprint iPhone 5 IS unlocked for is for use OUTSIDE the US like while traveling etc. Good luck and let us know what happens or if you have questions. (by the way if you search Sprint Forums there is ONE report of a person that supposedly unlocked their iPhone 5 to use on T-Mobile - but the vast majority will tell you it simply cannot be done)

The Sprint support did not provide that option, she had me dial ##873283# to no avail, t hen reset network settings, then finally reset to factory settings (bad idea). This disabled my iPhone. Now I can't even activate the phone because its still "searching..." for something.

In response to jaleesa.gordon ~ the problem one will encouter when trying to use a Sprint iPhone 5 on another US based cellular provider is not going to software but hardware. And the information can be found on Apple's website for the specifications of the iPhone 5 .
