May 08, 2015 · All Windows XP versions (Home, Pro, MCE) should all be the same procedure to config for multi core support. Make sure that the XP version has Service Pack 2 before doing the multi core config. You shouldn't worry, Ive done it on a MCE2005 (which already has SP2) system already, works fine. As for step 2, to check registry, go to Start Menu > Run.

Jul 11, 2006 · windows does not count a dual core as two seperate processors, so you can run a dual core on xp home and you can run a dual cpu rig on xp pro just fine. i think if you need 4 seperate processors, you have to move on to server. Last edited by nails; 07-10-2006 at 09:52 PM.

Oct 25, 2007 · Does VirtualBox support multi-core processors? I have an Intel Core 2 Duo, but my Windows XP virtual machine sees only one processor. If VirtualBox allows a VM to use only one of my two cores... then that's a severe limitation of VirtualBox! Running VirtualBox 1.5.2 on Ubuntu 7.10 with Win XP SP2 as a guest OS.
