Feb 27, 2008 · Enabling SATA support in 98/ME requires the SATA controller to be configured for RAID mode. This is a limitation of the OS. Otherwise, the storage controller will use IDE mode, which should not be a problem. You aren't going to get full SATA feature support in 98SE, anyway.

May 31, 2006 · The SATA does indeed work right out of the box in DOS7. But the same feature (the built-in 32-bit drivers) prevents W98SE from installing correctly. While I like the GeForce 6100 northbridge, I'd be willing to buy any uATX mobo that will provide video, SATA (not just SATARAID but stand-alone SATA, no RAID) and support Win98SE. Is there such a mobo?
