I replaced a problematical UPS with an APC 1300 VA model number BX1300G UPS. I plugged the cable that came with the UPS for monitoring the UPS into the data port on the UPS end and the other end into a USB port on a Windows Server 2012 Essentials system.

Oct 28, 2014 · I have installed the UPS server component on a Windows 2012 print server and the UPS klient on a XenApp 7.5 Windows 2008 R2. Installation seems OK but the performance is so slow that printing a single page might take like 5 minutes to complete.

I'm trying to enable my ups (APC Back-UPS350) on my new windows 7 desktop pc. APC told me to install PowerChute software/drivers. The install stops with a 'disable native windows power management' statement. I can't figure out how/where to do this.

Microsoft Vista, Windows 7, 8, &10, Windows 2008 & 2012 do not have a native serial UPS shutdown. For a serial UPS use PowerChute Business Edition or USB to serial converter. For any USB connected UPS these OS do have some configuration for shutdown if you do not want to use the supported APC software options.
