I am not sure about whether Windows 98 can support Widescreen, as I have never tried. But if you have an updated ATI Graphics card, then you should be fine. The monitor you are using probably doesn't support Widescreen. Note: You can use the Compatiblity mode in Vista, in which you tell it to run programs as if the OS was 98.

Feb 10, 2010 · I just hooked up a Samsung 204BW monitor to my old 98 machine. I installed the monitor driver OK. When I look at the picture it is stretched out. I went into Display settings and my only options are 640x480 800x600 1024x768 1152x864 1280x1024. None of these are wide screen resolution values. I have an NVIDIA RIVA TNT2 AGP video card installed.

The only reason I think it was here because I took out an NVidia to begin with so my default settings were at 1360x768. Nov 17, 2003 · Widescreen patch compatibility not tested. If all above fail, reinstall the game, and use e.g. 1.0 version (afterwards, replacing exe and filter.efx should enough). The problem can happen e.g. after Samantha Time Trial 2:07 (hard), on 1.4 binary version, and is gone on 1.3.4.
