Nov 09, 2014 · The root of this is Windows XP x86 is MBR only meaning that the limitation is to do with MBR. Disks exceeding 2TB must use GPT which extends the limit significantly, however Windows XP does not have this support currently. A 32 bit version of windows generally will only see the protective MBR on a GPT disk.

The problem however is that GPT is not supported by Windows XP. Paragon however came up with a solution. They basically create a specially signed driver to make Windows XP compatible with the GPT partitioning scheme. With this in place, Windows XP users can utilize the full storage of 3TB hard drives.

Jun 10, 2012 · Windows XP SP3 won't let me activate after HDD problem fixed I had issues with my computer not working (rebooting constantly) which was fixed by my Dad's friend that works in IT. Unfortunately the fix seems to have undone the activation of Windows (I have owned this PC since 2007) and I had 30 days to activate.
