Mar 05, 2010 · Best Answer: WinDVD does this when the monitor device used, it doesn't like. I'm having trouble trying to explain but, when I set my computer to dual monitor view WinDVD will give me the same message and not let me play it. When I set it back to single monitor view, it works fine.

Dec 20, 2009 · i have a sony vaio cw series..has blu-ray built in to it..i put in a blu-ray disc and opened up windvd (which is the only program it's telling me i can open it with) to play it and it's giving me this error---STOP, YOUR DISPLAY ENVIRONMENT DOES NOT SUPPORT PROTECTED CONTENT PLAYBACK.

Dec 30, 2008 · I think you get the "your display environment does not support protected content playback" message because somehow the HDCP key has been lost between the 2 devices. Try switching off both devices and then check that both HDMI cables are pressed into the sockets on the Vaio …

Aug 14, 2009 · Even though my graphics card and monitor support HDCP, it still didn't work properly all the time, until I started using AnyDVD HD. Some people look down on it for the legal aspects, but I think we should be looking down on the movie studios for charging us for junk that simply doesn't work without it.

I used a SiliconDust HD Home Rum CableCard tuner. The movies play fine on the laptop screen. When I plug in into the TV via it's HDMI port, it does not play back the premium channels recordings.
