As the title says, I am wondering if Windows XP pro supports dual core processors without configuring, I am downgrading (Upgrading) my computer from Vista to XP, and i have dual core.

Jul 11, 2006 · I remember reading somewhere that Windows XP ONLY supports two physical cores. Is that true? Does anyone have a definitive answer? What about XP 64? Does anyone know where I can find this information on the Microsoft website? What I'm getting at is this: if you had a Dual-CPU Dual-Core Opteron rig, would you be able to run Windows XP Professional?

Jul 21, 2005 · I thought the dual core systems were going to be ok with XP Home, since Microsoft said its only going to count packages. (IE: HT or dual core will be ok with XP Home - only count as 1 package) And Pro would be good up to a dual-processor system with dual-core. (2 packages = 4 cpu's) And what about the 840EE.

Given the same level of multithreading support within various applications, does Vista direct threads differently through a dual-core CPU than XP?

May 08, 2015 · It is confirmed that Sager (as well as many other OEMs) DOES NOT configure this hotfix for their Dual Core notebooks (and desktops from other OEMs). Sager's response.-Special thanks to Kilim. Make sure that the pre-installed OS (Windows XP w/ Service Pack 2) was correctly modified to fully support your dual core CPU.

Aug 10, 2015 · Can the Intel Pentium Dual-Core CPU 6300 Support ten? ... P.S that computer was built during Windows XP so that is why it has so little. In that case I don't think that is the right datasheet, the CPU I listed came out in May of 2009. Did you mean the Pentium 630? That one was released in February of 2005...
