Jan 20, 2012 · Here’s what it looks like for most LinkSys WRT54xx series routers: After you click the tab at the top, the subtabs will change. As you can see in the same picture above, there will be an option that says QoS. Click to the Quality of Service or QoS subtab. Scroll to the bottom of the page and change the drop down for WMM to Enabled.

Traffic was busier at the time, so without WMM I was getting around 9Mbps down. I guess for now I will just leave WMM off, even though I don't know what sort of in network transfer speeds I will achieve without it. I've owned a few routers, and I have never liked what WMM did to my network.

Mar 21, 2011 · Linksys support told me to disable it, and i have no clue what it is.They also told me to disable UPnP which i didn't do because i heard that if a router has the UPnP setting self enabled or whatever,it's a good thing for gaming. So, i don't know if i should listen to linksys support and disable both the WMM support and UPnP. Can you guys help?

I have found that disabling WMM support maxes my download speed to around 80Mbps on my desktop connected using a Linksys dual band adapter connecting to the 5GHz band. If I connect to the 2.4GHz band using the same adapter I get about 35-40Mbps down.
