May 13, 2007 ·
Just about the only thing reliable about FLAC playback in WMP11 is the tag support via WMPTSE (a 3rd party FLOSS plugin). Good luck with the filters.
I take it there is nothing else then? What about foobar? I used to use this in WinXP to playback Flac files, would this be a better bet than WMP11 and the dirsctshow filters in Vista?

Feb 22, 2008 · Assuming WMP11 doesn't natively support playback of FLAC files, what is the best / most stable plug-in out there to allow it? Failing that, an alternative media player that support FLAC natively would be OK, but I like the oganisation and layout of WMP11 so it would have to be something similar. Any help gratefully received Nick

A relatively large part of my music library is made of .APE or .FLAC lossless files. Usually only one file per CD, with a companion .CUE file with tracks duration and information. I have found some codecs to be able to play .APE and .FLAC (although neither of them support seeking, or even track duration).
