I am on an i5, 8gb running Win7 64bit. I have no problem playing any file in Windows using VLC or any other program. Kodi has always played everything for me, but I realise now I have probably only played mpeg and avi through kodi. So these particular files which are .mkv and play fine in VLC, when Kodi plays them, come up as just a green screen.

Feb 21, 2016 · Hello. I downloaded a season of a TV series and all the files are MKV, and it also says 720p x265 AAC. They work fine in VLC on my Windows PC, but after FTP-ing them to Xbox, it only plays sound in XBMC, as if it is an audio file.
