External LDAP authentication can be used to check user names and passwords. Note that a user must exist in Zabbix as well, however its Zabbix password will not be used. It would be great if zabbix LDAP authentication feature could be extended to support user groups. For instance let's say that we have 2 zabbix groups: guest and dba, with all the access defined and working. If a user in a LDAP is a member of a group called "zabbix_guest" or "zabbix_dba", this groups could be mapped to the zabbix groups.

My configurations are ldap host 172.25.172.20 port 389 Base DN DC=domain,DC=LOCAL Search attribute sAMAccountName Bind DN [email protected]. and they works just fine at my old installation. Moreover, I've tried full distinguishedName CN=Mr_LDAP,CN=Users,DC=domain,DC=local rather than userPrincipalName with no effect.
