Jan 20, 2016 · I could not reproduce the problem on Linux - the Japanese text shows as expected. The reason seems to be that the default encoding on Linux system-wide is UTF-8 and no additional configuration is required in Zend Studio. But I did reproduce the issue on Windows, where the system-wide encoding (at least one my Windows) is Western CP1252.
