UPnP support is now commonly marketed as DLNA. Amarok has a built-in UPnP media share client so it can play tracks shared on the network. To enable it, use Settings -> Configure Amarok -> Plugins -> Collections and check the box by the UPnP Collection plugin. When a media share is discovered it will be shown in Local Music.

Hi, unfortunately, Amarok is not a music editing software nor audio effects post-processor, adding direct support for LADSPA plug-ins is beyond our scope. On the other hand, Amarok just uses Phonon to play sounds, phonon then uses let's say gstreamer, which most commonly uses PulseAudio, which commonly uses ALSA to do the playback.

Jan 27, 2013 · KDE have to be compiled with libhupnp (enabling the Solid UPnP backend) to fully support UPnP. I have created on AUR kio-upnp-ms package & herqq-svn-r55 package to enable this support but obviously some troubles are dues to the missing libupnp library during kdelibs compilation (or something like that).
