    Dec 13, 2014 · I have three external WD USB 3.0 hard drives. One is a 3TB and the other two are 4TB. Both 4TB drives will randomly disconnect when plugged into a USB 3.0 port. The WD 3TB is fine when plugged into USB 3.0. Searching on the WD community forums reveals many users have this problem with the 4TB external drives.
