Instead of each piece of the image being selected using a specific and different top and left (x and y position on the Image) all of the pieces are showing the top left corner! This worked fine in the earlier version of Firefox and still works on the latest versions of Google Chrome, Safari, and Opera. Appreciate any help you can offer. TC

For older versions up to 31, you can use CSS variables to achieve positioning the background on a single axis similar to using background-position-x or background-position-y. Apr 26, 2007 · Firefox does not support background-position-y, but it does support background-position which accepts 2 values (x y). If you specify only the x coordinate rather than both, the y coordinate will cascade from the previous class.
