Jan 22, 2013 · Actually, Cool N Quiet is the idle state, C1 allows the cpu to essentially shut off unused cores, C1E is AMD's additional feature that puts the entire cpu in sleep mode if all cores are in C1 mode. For overclocking, disable C6.

Mar 09, 2012 · hi all ive got a bit of a dilema. as in the title my 965 be c3 is underclocking to 2.6Ghz and undervolting to 1.26v when system is idle. C1E and cool n quiet r disabled. ive read tonnes of forum threads but cant seem to find an answer.

Jul 01, 2014 · Intel users could benefit from turning C1E off as long as they leave Intel speed step/ EIST on they will be fine and have less dpc latency. AMD users just as much as long ad C1E is disabled and AMD Cool n ' Quiet/Power Now is left enabled. a core in C1state can return to processing instructions instantly, a core in C1E must be woken up first.

Sep 22, 2007 · I'd like to know if either Intel's Speedstep or AMD's Cool 'n' Quiet technologies are actually supported in any of the various OSX86 releases? I'm more interested in Cool 'n' Quiet since I'm currently running AMD but if that is a long shot then I may have a reason to upgrade my system (yeah no brand loyalty here).
