Jul 10, 2013 · However, when this specific user running XP SP3 attempts to create a folder with spaces in the folder name, copy a file into a folder she gets "The destination does not support long file names. Please enter a name for this file" to which it then offers a file name without spaces as an option.

May 09, 2008 · Windows XP Pro SP3 & Long File Names After installing Service Pack 3 on my laptop, I am getting some issues. When I copy folders for backup then I am getting warnings that some filenames are too long and cannot be copied to my Iomega backup drive.

Apr 30, 2009 · What I don't understand is why it takes over 24 hours to copy 226 GB of data from one drive to another in the same system. Both drives are 7200 rpm PATA drives across the 400 MHz FSB of a Compaq Evo P4 1.7 GHz system with a clean install of XP Pro, sp3 with all updates.

I have tried to boot from different types of utility DOSes but unable to execute E:\i138\winnt.exe in a proper manner. various issues. some DOS does'nt recognize NTFS partition D . in other DOSes there is NTFS file names difference, 8.2 versus long filenames. various issues.
