Jul 10, 2013 · However, when this specific user running XP SP3 attempts to create a folder with spaces in the folder name, copy a file into a folder she gets "The destination does not support long file names. Please enter a name for this file" to which it then offers a file name without spaces as an option.

May 09, 2008 · Windows XP Pro SP3 & Long File Names After installing Service Pack 3 on my laptop, I am getting some issues. When I copy folders for backup then I am getting warnings that some filenames are too long and cannot be copied to my Iomega backup drive.

I have tried to boot from different types of utility DOSes but unable to execute E:\i138\winnt.exe in a proper manner. various issues. some DOS does'nt recognize NTFS partition D . in other DOSes there is NTFS file names difference, 8.2 versus long filenames. various issues.
