No Blu-Ray 1080 30P : Vegas Pro Forum

FYI - the Blu-ray Disc spec does not support 1080/30p. You can do 1080/60i or 1080/24p, but that's about it (unless you're in a PAL country, as 25p and 50i are supported as well.) It's not the PS3 that's to blame, nor is it Sony Vegas - it's in the specs. This is why it pays to do research before you buy, not after.

Sep 24, 2015 · Avoiding re-compress of 1080 30p Media for Blu-ray ... But then I found out to my surprise that 1080 30p is not officially part of the Blu-ray spec, only 60i. I was told by a learned user on the RED camera forum that I could render to a compliant format (AVC) at 30p but needed to "flag that file for 2-2 pulldown". ...

May 13, 2015 · Also, I think that Blu-ray doesn't support 1080/60p.) It is possible to create a data DVD (not a video DVD) that contains 1080i or 1080p video files that will then play in a computer with a DVD or Blu-ray drive, but such disks will not work in a stand-alone DVD or Blu-ray player. Because of these hassles and limitations, I no longer produce DVDs.

Jun 10, 2008 · Authoring BDMV even onto red laser media, *is* blu-ray, with chapters and autoplay. This was not a "data disk." So my point in replying to the blu-ray query was to answer the question by the thread starter who likes the look of 30p, whose stock agency wants it, but who stated blu-ray does not support it. Empirically, is 30p a supported format?

May 02, 2008 · Blu-ray does not have either 25p or 30p as one of it's supported video rates. However, that does not mean it cannot play them, you simply have to encode them as 50i or 60i. This also implies that the player, or your TV if it only takes 1080i, has to be able to correctly de-interlace those signals and create a correct 25p/30p image.

Feb 14, 2015 · The Blu-ray has more of the "film" look that the live/in-person look of the source files. I check out the .m2ts files in the \STREAM folder and see they are all 1080/23.976p, which explains things.. I check out Wikipedia and see the Blu-ray specs doesn't support 1080/60p or even 1080/30p, but does support 1080/30i. So this brings up a few ...

Sep 05, 2012 · I don't think there is a real difference if I shoot 24p or 30p of a talking head, but I haven't really compared them, so I really don't know. My question is what works better and looks better for a customer when watching a DVD or a Blu-Ray on the their 46" widescreen TV? I've heard 30p doesn't work well with Blu-Ray.

No it does not technically support 30p, it must be encoded as 60i. But its of little relevance as its use is mostly limited to concerts. --Ray andrew 17:20, 6 February 2008 (UTC) Point is - Blu-ray does not support native 30p, so why are we showing it in the table?

Skip 30p altogether. For HD I'd probably choose 24p for film look, and for the video look either 720p/60 or 1080i/30. (On a side note, U.S. broadcast stations are either using 1080i/30 or 720p/60. While there are other HD specs, they are limited …
