Mike, Windows 2012 Hyper V isn't supported on the 2950 's or any other 9th generation Dell server. Due to its age it is only compatible on the 11gen and 12gen servers.

Jan 23, 2018 · The R410 should support Hyper-V 2012r2 at least (which you can run if you are licensed for 2016.) I am using Hyper-V 2012r2 in a test setup on a Dell 2950 vIII with no problems. The 2950 does not support Second Level Address Translation (SLAT) which went from being an option to a requirement in Hyper-V 2016 so I was limited to 2012r2.
