Hi, We are currently running VMWare ESX server on a Dell PowerEdge 2850 with an Intel Xeon processor and we need to run 64bit guest OS machines, however to do this we need to enable the Virtualization technology.

Sep 16, 2011 · The 2850 doesn't support Virtualization. The only 8th generation Dell server with the aility to use it is the PE6850R. The limitation is that the BIOS doesn't support VT (Virtualization Technology) which is why you see the VM staying in Start Up, but never starts.

We have a Dell PowerEdge 2850 server that we're looking to do run some virtual servers on. Based on our research Xenserver is the best fit for our business needs.
