Go to Data Table and right click on it. Select Sheet -> Import -> From File. A dialog opens. It shows the type of files you can open. For Excel it shows only .xls files.

Does QTP support the testing of actions embedded in an Excel? I mean the actions like clicking some buttons to trigger certain processing logics created by Macro. I found in the QTP 11.00 Product Availability Matrix that Excel 2000, 2003 and 2007 are supported but not for automation (Page 2).

Answer is, you can't import a macro enabled Excel (xlsm) file into UFT datatable. The reason being, Datatable.ImportSheet accepts only .xls or .xlsx file extensions. Workaround is, save the xlsm file as Excel 97-2003 Workbook (xls) format using Save As function from Excel. Or save the xlsm file as Excel Workbook (xlsx) format.
