May 17, 2011 · This is something I'd also be interested to know. With Small Business Server 2003 there was no way to create a trust relationship with another domain so is this something we'd be able to do with Small Business Server 2011 Standard or even Essentials?

Nov 06, 2014 · Yes, I do know there are no trusts in SBS. Hence my dilemma. Doman 1 contains Server A (SBS 2011 Essentials). Domain 2 contains Server B (Server 2008 R2) and Server C (Server 2003 - soon to be decommissioned). Users on each domain will require access to servers on both domains.3.7/5(10)

SBS does not allow domain trusts. It will break, the server will periodically shut down, and undoing the damage can be a right pain. Plus, trying to circumvent Microsoft licensing is illegal, and as you yourself said, that is a restriction Microsoft itself lists.

Oct 02, 2017 · I know you said you don't have any trusts, but did you actually check Domains and Trust to ensure? Administrative Tools->Domains and Trusts. right-click your domain and click Properties. Click the trusts tab Yes, positive. I just double checked. There are no trusts.

SBS does not support trusts with other domains or forests, including both implicit and explicit trusts. SBS does not support parent or child domains.
