Jun 29, 2007 · I don't really think it is. I wouldn't expect support for Win98, but Win XP is still commonly used. DX10 doesn't give me any new features, it simply gives me better graphics. If I plunk a DX10 card into Win XP I certainly would expect that I get all hardware features. Vista on the other hand does give me new features and plenty of them.

XP does not officially support DX10 & probably never will. There are some 3rd party hacks available that supposedly allow DX10 to work. Even so, you're not gonna gain anything unless you have software/games that use DX10 & a video card that supports DX10.
