Aug 19, 2019 · This is a problem if you have an SSD. How to Enable TRIM. Windows should automatically enable TRIM if you have a modern version of Windows with a modern solid-state drive. If TRIM is disabled, it’s possible that Windows knows something you don’t, and TRIM shouldn’t be enabled for a drive. Perhaps it’s a a very old solid-state drive.

Nov 23, 2012 · Since making that post, I've gotten rid of Vista entirely by letting Mepis 11 (a Linux distro) have all of it's drive space, as Vista wasn't working any longer anyway, and my wife really doesn't need Windows for anything (as Linux works just fine for anything she'd need to do).
