Windows XP does not support DirectX 10 or DirectX 11 mode. Note : There are third-party "ports" that purport to allow DirectX 10 to be installed and run on Windows XP. These do not still allow the game to choose DX10 mode and are incompatible with the game, which will lead to significant stability loss when the game is run (e.g. crashing).

Nov 15, 2009 · Sorry but Microsoft wants you to buy there shiny new OS. They are forcing you to buy it. You can't even get dx10 in windows XP. You will have to buy Vista or 7 (DON'T but vista). But before you do that make sure you actually need dx11 that bad. There is not much of an performance improvement from dx9 to dx11.
