Feb 26, 2012 · We (he, actually!) found that imap idle is not supported in the standard email client, which can poll every 5 mins but not keep an active connection. He also verified that emails deleted from the mobile are deleted from the imap server, too. However, k-9 email (freeware) supports imap idle.

Nov 23, 2013 · Does "sync settings menu is completely different" refer to the lack of contacts, calendar and tasks check boxes on the primary Microsoft account? If so, it's because you cannot turn syncing of these items off on the primary Microsoft account. A for IMAP accounts, the phone doesn't support IMAP IDLE, so you can't get push on IMAP accounts.
