Does anyone know if there is a way to enable AHCI/SATA mode on the Latitude D620. The onboard I/O chipset (Intel 82801 GBM - ICH7M) supports it as well as the internal SATA drive I have, but it is only running in ATA mode and I would like to take advantage of the performance improvements of the AHCI/SATA mode.

Jun 17, 2005 · Newer versions of Ghost should support ICH5R SATA enhanced mode, are you running the latest version? However, the weird thing here is that you describe your PATA drives being detected in enhanced mode as SATA devices - which they're not I wouldn't worry about the reported DMA mode if the drive performs the same in either mode.
