Feb 25, 2012 · We find PSD one of our most difficult formats to support. We make bug fixes / enhancements from time-to-time but have not found the time to properly support this format. We're currently in the middle of developing ImageMagick 7.0.0 so it may be some time before we can come up with a proper patch for your bug report.

Most image processing algorithms assume a linear colorspace, therefore it might be prudent to convert to linear color or remove the gamma function before certain image processing algorithms are applied.
