Aug 06, 2017 · The truth is that Linux does not fully support NTFS because it's not open source and some featrures of NTFS aren't documented enough to work in Linux. But I'd be surprised if that was the cause here. I asked some people in the arch forums.

If you are doing multiple writes from both OS's, and want to avoid permission entanglement, you can just format it in fat32/exfat. It can be done in ntfs , but for that drive size, it isn't needed. A package called ntfs-3g deals with it. Use filebot for the file naming on linux.
